Claude Mattox, 55, began his first four-year term on the Phoenix City Council on January 3, 2000.  He represents District 5, which includes west and central Phoenix with landmarks such as Cricket Wireless Pavilion, the Maryvale Baseball Stadium - spring training home to the Milwaukee Brewers and the new Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago White Sox spring baseball complex at Camelback Ranch.

Claude chairs the City Council Public Safety and Veterans Subcommittee, is a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee and Economy, Commerce and Sustainability Subcommittee.  He also serves as Chairman of the National League of Cities Energy, Environment, & Natural Resources (EENR) Steering and Policy Committee and is also a Board Director and Treasurer of the Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (AMWUA).  Claude serves on the Executive Committee and Board of WESTMARC (Western Maricopa Coalition) and is Ex-officio member of the Maryvale Revitalization Board of Directors.  He served as Vice Mayor of the Phoenix City Council from January to December 2002.  Gompers Habilitation Center is truly pleased to have Claude currently serving on its Board.  Having a thorough knowledge of the needs of our community in general, Gompers is very pleased to have Claude on its Board as it supports Gompers’ efforts to answer the needs of individuals with disabilities in our community.
