GOMPERS 30-10 PROJECT HAS BEGUN--The project consists of the tenant improvement of Gompers’ 3,599 square foot pool facility, involving the removal of the pool, to provide a new program space for adults with cognitive and physical disabilities. The program space is to be used to provide specialized instruction, increased access to technology as well as person centered therapeutic services and sensory activities. The new program room makes best use of the natural daylight existing in the space and incorporates changes in ceiling heights to define separate functions of the room without dividing it unnecessarily with walls that would limit visual monitoring of the space. It includes a separate therapeutic services area, story circle, Smart Board and computer stations.

AUGUST 12 - GOMPERS' ANNUAL TALENT SHOW!

Gompers' program participants and students shined at our annual Talent Show on Friday, August 12.  Parents, relatives and community partners came out to support our stars and enjoy the entertainment!  CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR PERFORMERS!

 

AFLAC FORD FUSION SHOW CAR AT GOMPERS!

 

On June 22, 2011 we welcomed the Aflac #99 Ford Fusion show car and members of the Roush Fenway Racing staff to Gompers!  Fans braved the 111 degree temperatures to get one step closer to the sport they love.  Members of the community, Gompers’ staff and participants each left with a memorable photo of the day!

On April 1, 2011 Pioneer Distributing Co. hosted the 39^th Annual Golf fore Gompers tournament to benefit Gompers Habilitation Dental Center program “Special Smiles for Special People.”  The sold out event took place at the Raven Golf Club at South Mountain with 148 golfers,12 corporate sponsors, 23 hole sponsors and over 50 donated items and prizes from our community partners. Golf fore Gompers raised over $43,500.  Proceeds support dental treatment for uninsured or underinsured individuals with disabilities.
